Spirit of Wales Distillery has been shortlisted for the Made in Wales Awards hosted by Business Insider Wales. The Made in Wales Awards are a celebration of great Welsh products from companies around Wales.
Newport, South Wales, United Kingdom, 2 October 2022 – Insider Media has announced the shortlist for this year’s edition of the Made in Wales Awards. The team from Spirit of Wales Distillery are delighted to be shortlisted in the Food & Drinks Category, which strives to award those seen as most impressive by the judges. Jjudged through the lens of innovation, commercial success, business development along with the use of Welsh products where applicable.
When asked about being shortlisted for a Made in Wales Award, Daniel Dyer founder of the distillery commented, “It’s been a privilege to be shortlisted for the Made in Wales awards. As a distillery manufacturing and creating products from scratch, I feel this is a great recognition of what we have achieved so far and gives us the motivation to push forward with our international sales and exports and bring the world a taste of Wales.”
Spirit of Wales Distillery sold its first bottle of hand-crafted spirits in April 2021 and opened the distillery to visitors for the first time in July 2021. As a new business, they are honored to be considered alongside other well-known local producers and are proud of the commemorative Steeltown gins and vodka, and Curiously Welsh Dragon’s Breath drinks which pay tribute to the landscapes and people of Wales.
More recently, the Newport Distillery has helped brand owners around the UK create their own spirit recipes through the distillery’s contract distilling offering. This has opened the market for bottlers in the industry and assisted other partners with private label spirits to aid in fundraising for special events, or through brand extensions.
