As a distillery our company, Spirit of Wales Distillery will be acting as a donation centre for the Polonia Dla Ukrainy (community for Ukraine) appeal. Working alongside the Women of Newport, we are assisting in the collection of items to assist Ukrainian refugees.
You may wonder, is this just another brand getting on the bandwagon? However, this matter is close to our hearts. We have friends in the Ukraine, with many of our distillery parts coming from Lviv and Kyiv, of which both cities have been attacked. We feel as a company that it is our duty to get involved because we know people there and feel that we must do something. In the words of St. David on St. David’s Day “Do the little things, the small things you’ve seen me doing”
Our distillery in Newport is a drop-off centre between 9 am-5 pm until Thursday Lunchtime, at which point, they will take donations to the Westgate Hotel for sorting. These items will be taken to Poland on Saturday and distributed by recognised charities that are helping refugees. If you can assist us and the Women of Newport, we have a collection box where you can donate items that will be taken to Poland this Saturday for distribution by recognised charities assisting refugees and people on the ground.
Drop by our distillery between 10 am and 5 pm Monday to Saturday to contribute 16a Greenwich Road, Maesglas Industrial Estate, Newport, NP20 2NN, or find another drop off facility listed on the Woman of Newport Facebook page.
